Given that the Deadpool game just came out, and the new Wolverine movie is right around the corner, I thought I’d give X-Men Origins: Wolverine another spin. This is an action game first and foremost. It takes a lot of cues from God of War and feels like a ripoff most of the time (it is almost 100% like God of War). It is, however, an excellent ripoff. Wolverine screams quality; you can tell that everything from the enemy design to the extra unlockable costumes are beautifully rendered and well thought out. The best part about the game is the story. While the X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie was a total stinker that almost killed the entire X-Men movie franchise, the game is amazing. Part of this is due to the game starting development related to the comics, but nonetheless, it is AWESOME and fixes just about everything from the movie that you no doubt hated. Well, except Deadpool, because Raven isn’t made up entirely of miracle workers. If you like God of War and love gory, over the top action, then you’ll adore this.
